My cousin Adam got married this weekend to his beautiful bride Brittany. I have to brag on Adam just a little bit - he got accepted to medical school at Emory this past Monday. What a great way to start his wedding week? They asked Payton to be the flower girl a few months ago. Ben and Ryan, her five year old cousins were the ring bearers. The three of them were very sweet together and had a lot of fun. The morning of the wedding I took Payton to get a pedicure with her friend Alex. They had fun getting their legs massaged with peppermint lotion and getting flowers painted on their purple toes. Then off to the wedding that afternoon. Payton was in an anti-picture mood, which she often gets in. I have learned that during these times forcing her to pose for a picture is not pretty so we do not have many posed pictures of Miss Payton, but some of the candids we did get I really like. She did however cooperate with the photographer so we were pleased with that. She looked beautiful and loved watching Brittany get ready. She loves to see the bride in her dress. During the ceremony she behaved well with just a few scary moments for me when bugs started crawling her way on the stage. For the most part I was very pleased and have to say she looked beautiful with the flowers in her hair. After the ceremony she had a one track mind - DANCING!!! All she wanted to do was dance and did not care if anyone danced with her. Jonathan asked if he could dance with her and he got turned down. She had a great time with her cousins Sarah Grace, Charlotte, Ben and Ryan. She danced all night!!! We literally had to pull her off the dance floor when we were ready to leave. It was a fun night, but I did not feel like I got to spend much time with her because she was so distracted. That night after we laid Payton down, at almost midnight, I asked Jonathan if I could go and get her back up and let her sleep with us. I just missed her, you know that mommy feeling when all I wanted was her beside me even if we were sleeping. So Jonathan was sweet enough and agreed and the three of us snuggled all night. It was a good day and I am so proud of my cousin for all the good decisions he has made, especially the one to marry Brittany and make her apart of our family.
