Harrison's Nursery

This past month we have been decorating the nursery with the help of my parents. Thanks Mimi and Pawpaw for helping us create such a fun little place for him. It came together nicely and we get excited walking past it as we realize there is soon to be a little boy in our house. Here a few pictures. The black and white picture on the wall is of four generations of Harrison's, the baby being my dad. We are naming him after my grandfather James Harrison Gadd.

Clemson vs TCU

Yesterday we got to go to one more Clemson game of the season. We did not think we would get to go since I only have four weeks left until Harrison arrives. I went to the doctor on Thursday and he said I could go, so off we went. The girls were beyond excited. You would think it was Christmas morning around here when we are getting ready for a game. Jonathan found a Clemson Barbie that I had in High School and put it in Payton's room early Sat morning. When she woke up and saw it she was thrilled and even more ready to be in Clemson. My parents drove up there with us as we listened to Tiger Rag for two hours straight. If it went off the girls would quickly remind us to please turn Clemson back on. We love that they like Clemson football. It may be sad though that sweet Claire does not know her colors, shapes, cannot count past two, but can spell Clemson. Maybe I should make up cheers to teach her all the basics in life. The weather was dreary, but didn't ruin day. We met up with Nana, walked around town and shopped, ate lunch, and watched the band parade by as we entered the stadium. Both girls took a nap during the first half of the game, which is not abnormal and then were ready for cheering. Then we had slushies and head home in the rain. Even though Clemson lost it was a great day in Tiger Town with family. All of us were so glad we could go one more time this season.

Gwinnett County Fair

Another annual trip to the Gwinnett County Fair with the Lord family. It was again another great night of fair food, animals, rides, and desert. Here are a few pictures that we took.

Preschool

Tuesday was the first day of preschool this year for the girls, and Claire's very first day. Payton has been so excited and kept saying the last few weeks that preschool is her favorite place. Two years ago when we first put her in preschool she loved it and never was sad about me leaving, I am not sure she even noticed. Claire on the other hand is our sensitive girl and likes to be with us. I was reluctant this year with sending her to preschool but knew she would love it eventually. Last week when we talked about it she would say "Mommy come" over and over. When I told her I would come and then have to leave she said "Claire bear leave too." Oh, this made me so nervous about taking her. Her teachers this year are great and really kind so I knew they would love on her if she was sad. Well, the first day came and during the 1 mile ride to the church she kept saying "Mommy come." I thought we were in for disaster. It had been a fun morning Pawpaw had come over to see the girls off and take pictures for us, Payton was thrilled, and Daddy had stayed home to go with us to school. Payton on the way to school told Claire "No Mommy cannot stay it is just for kids(with a big smile)! It is so fun." She was trying to be helpful, but made Clarie cry. We dropped off Payton in her class first and like always she walked right in and sat down without looking back. She was grinning ear to ear and felt so big. Then we walked Claire to her class. Much to my surprise she did GREAT!!! We told her bye, gave her a kiss, and left without tears! When I picked her up they said she did great and played with Dylan all day. I think it helped to have her little buddy there. Now when we talk about preschool she says "Fun", but still says "Mommy come." It is nice to feel wanted.

It's time for Clemson football!!!

Every year we look forward to the First Friday Parade with great anticipation. We love the start of Clemson football season, the parade, a weekend with our friends at the lake, and watching our girls get so excited about the Tigers! This year was no exception. We drove up to Clemson friday afternoon and met up with the Goforths, Darleys and Burnetts. We had a great picnic on Bowman, watched the parade and then let the kids run on the field. We spent the weekend at Nana's lake house (thanks Nana) went to the game on Saturday after tailgaiting and then got to hang out a little on the water before heading home Sunday. It was a great weekend.

Palm Coast

This last week we went to the beach with a group of friends. The resort was beautiful and a great place to take a big group of kids. It was a fun trip filled with lots of squeals, giggles, splashes, trips down the waterslide, BIG waves for daddy, and eventually two tired little girls. One morning our girls woke up at 6:15 thanks to Claire Bear who found the light switch next to her pack n play. Instead of fighting it Jonathan and I took the girls down to the beach for an early morning stroll. It was fun to be out there and watch our girls run. As I watched them run in the sand I had one of those "awe" moments as I realized how fast they are growing up into little girls. I am so thankful for my family of four, soon to be five.
