A Field Journal

Payton went on a "field journal" as she likes to call it with her friends from preschool. She was excited for me to meet "all her new friends." They went to a dentist office, and then to Johnny's Pizza. It was fun to watch her interact with her classmates and enjoy herself.
The highlight of her day was riding in the car with her boyfriend Johnson. She has become boy crazy over this little guy in her class this year. She has called him her boyfriend since their Toddler Day Out class, but this year she is smitten. She talks about him all the time and then some more. We have talked to her about how she probably does not need to think about him as much as she does. That led to tears and a broken heart, because "He is special to me." The day before her field journal we found out Johnson was going to ride with us. After a big smile and a long time staring out the window with a silly look on her face she said "Mom I had been doing good not thinking about him, but now I cannot stop. I just feel so happy." We are trying to handle this little obsession carefully, but it is definitely new waters for us as parents and one we thought would be years away.
