Our big girlLately I have really been wondering if Payton would ever be ready to potty train. She is a very independent child, much like myself, and if something is not her idea we usually have quite a struggle. I knew we would not have success with potty training until it was her idea. We have been talking about it a lot and have not seen any interest from her. I had even told her she could have M&Ms, surprises, and wear panties. Yet nothing really enticed her. This past Tuesday I decided to make a Payton Potty Chart she could fill in with stickers as she went. When she had 10 stickers she could pick out a toy, and then when she had filled in the whole chart we would have a Payton potty party. I put her in panties after her nap and she has stayed dry ever since. She goes to the potty on her own, out in public she lets me know and holds it till we can go, and she has even been dry most every morning and after every nap. We are so proud of her and quite surprised ourselves. Let's just say she has the chart almost completely full and it looks like we are having a Payton potty party tomorrow. She has been easy to potty train and is has been quite fun. It had to be her idea but I now know she was definitely ready.

What a fabulous accomplishment! Isn't that such a great task to have behind you! Scott was finally trained a couple of months ago and it's great! Scott and Payton sound like they would get along great...most things have to be their idea in order for it to happen! :) It makes life fun and interesting! I'm glad your family is doing well! Congrats on the potty training! Care to come to our house? I am looking to hire someone...no I am NOT kidding. Lets just say it has been an interesting summer...hence the lack of blogging:( Looks like y'all had a wonderful time at the beach! Hope we will see you guys sometime soon. Love all the pictures. m
